Dear Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce the 3rd International Symposium of Water Disaster Mitigation and Water Environment Regulation (WDWE2023), to be held at Sichuan University, Chengdu, China, around mid to late November, 2023.
This conference will provide a platform for global academic exchange on the scientific advances in protection of river functions, restoration of basin environment and ecology, prevention and management of water disasters, and other water-related challenges emerging with the climate change and social development in the modern world. Following the success of the 1st and 2nd symposiums held in 2019 and 2021 in Chengdu, we hope continue to promote face-to-face communication among experts and students in the fields of water disaster mitigation and water environment regulation, and welcome our colleagues and friends again in this post-pandemic days.
The WDWE2023 will be organized by the State Key Laboratory of Hydraulics and Mountain River Engineering (SKLH, Sichuan University) and co-sponsored by the International Association forHydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) and the IAHR China Chapter. The conference will be of primarily onsite-participation form with possible online access. Registration will be open to all participants from all over the world. Participants who would like to apply for oral presentation opportunities will need to submit abstracts, while full paper submissions are encouraged as well. Awards will be granted for outstanding presentations, full papers and posters, and the selected outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in relevant academic journals. We look forward to hosting every delegate with another successful symposium in Chengdu.
